 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 147 PM EDT Sun May 24 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
Shower activity is expected to increase throughout today, with some
thunderstorms also possible. Rain could once again be heavy in some
areas, leading to continued flooding concerns, especially in
locations impacted by heavy rain over the last several days.

Additional rounds of showers are likely on Memorial Day and into the
new work week, with mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms also
possible. Drier conditions build into the region towards the end of
the work week courtesy of high pressure to the north.

Temperatures will hover a few degrees above normal through the
middle of the upcoming week, before dropping back closer to normal,
or slightly below, late in the week.
