.DISCUSSION...
Near record warmth is in place across the region early this
afternoon, with temperatures near 80 degrees and gusty winds. This
warm air is fueling a line of strong to severe thunderstorms that
will sweep across the area from west to east between 1 PM and
midnight tonight. The main threat with these storms is damaging wind
gusts that could knock down trees and power lines. An isolated
tornado or large hail is also possible, mainly across southeast Ohio
and northern West Virginia. Heavy rain could cause localized flash
flooding in areas where the ground is already wet.
