 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 247 AM EDT Tue Jul 28 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
A couple rounds of thunderstorms are forecast to arrive later
tonight and continue into Tuesday evening. Some storms may be strong
or severe. The main threats from these storms will be damaging wind
gusts, along with locally heavy rainfall that could cause flash
 flooding.

Weather conditions will begin to clear up by Wednesday, with
lingering showers and perhaps a storm or two in the mountainous
areas. Cooler and drier air is in store for the rest of the week,
though smoke from distant wildfires will likely cause hazy skies.
