 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 241 PM EST Sun Feb 8 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
Arctic high pressure will maintain frigid weather tonight into
Monday morning, with temperatures in the single digits either side
 of zero.

A significant warm-up is forecast for the start of the new work
week. A cold front could bring rain showers Tuesday night into early
Wednesday, followed by slightly below normal temperatures and dry
weather through Thursday, although these temperatures will still be
a significant departure from the well-below normal temperatures of
 the past three weeks.

Systems could then bring rain and snow later in the week, as
 temperatures return to near normal.

This weather pattern should promote an orderly melt of the snowpack
 through the week.
