 .DISCUSSION...
The heat and humidity remains in place into the weekend. The hottest
conditions will be observed Thursday and Friday, with temperatures
in the lowlands reaching the mid 90s to around 100 degrees.
Oppressive humidity will create dangerous heat indices in the 100s.
Heat safety precautions should be taken.

Active weather returns Friday with isolated showers and
thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, including the marginal
chance for severe thunderstorms. Coverage and likelihood of showers
and thunderstorms increase through the weekend, as the ridge of high
pressure driving the heat wave breaks down, and a front moves in.
