 .DISCUSSION...
Arctic high pressure will build into the area overnight tonight.
This will make for a very cold night, with low temperatures in the
single digits, even below zero in the normally coldest spots. As
brisk northwest flow persists in the mountains ahead of the high,
wind chills there will be below zero, even as low as 25 below across
the highest ridges. The cold weather continues Sunday through Sunday
night to finish out the weekend, While it will be as cold if not
colder Sunday night, the wind will be light to calm.

A flat clipper system may bring a band of light snow, most likely
along and near the Tug Fork, on Sunday.

A significant warm-up is forecast for early next week. Systems could
then bring rain showers Tuesday night and Wednesday, and then rain
and snow showers later next week, as temperatures settle back down
to near normal. This should promote an orderly melt of the snowpack
 through the week.
