 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV

 .DISCUSSION...
A weak system passing by to our south could bring spotty light rain
in and near the mountains today. Any spotty light rain that occurs
early enough this morning could freeze on elevated surfaces, before
temperatures gradually rise above freezing late this morning into
 this afternoon.

Otherwise, high pressure will provide dry weather for most of the
area today as it builds toward the middle Ohio Valley, and then all
of the area as it crosses tonight and Sunday. It will remain chilly
through the weekend, and then a warming trend is in store for the
first full work week of 2026. However, systems bring rounds of rain
or rain showers with increasing coverage and intensity during the
middle to latter part of the week.
