 .DISCUSSION...
The intense heat wave marches into the Fourth of July, with high
temperatures in the 90s and heat index values over 100 degrees for
many areas. Remember to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor
 activities during the afternoon hours.

As the high pressure system responsible for the heat begins to break
down, chances for showers and thunderstorms will return to the
forecast this afternoon and evening, with additional showers and
storms expected over the weekend and into early next week. Some
storms could be strong to severe, especially on Saturday. Damaging
 winds are the primary hazard.
