Fire Weather Planning Forecast
National Weather Service Charleston WV
237 PM EDT Sat Apr 4 2026
.DISCUSSION...
Another very warm day is expected. A cold front will approach from
the west tonight, bringing a line of showers and thunderstorms along
with it. Some of those storms could be severe, particularly west of
the Ohio River. The main risk of any severe storm would be damaging
wind gusts, and an isolated tornado also cannot be ruled out. The
main timing of any severe storms would be late in the afternoon and
into the evening. Thunderstorm intensity will diminish after sunset.
Clouds and showers will linger Sunday in the mountains. The rest of
the week looks cooler and drier.
