 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 236 AM EDT Thu Mar 12 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
Showers and strong thunderstorms continue late this evening out
ahead of a cold front. Storms will also contain heavy downpours, and
could cause localized flooding, mainly in poor drainage areas.

Much cooler weather moves in overnight into Thursday morning as a
cold front moves through the region. This will bring the potential
for a wintry mix to parts of the area, primarily across the higher
elevations, but little accumulation is expected. Dry weather builds
in area wide by Thursday afternoon amid breezy winds. Mainly dry
weather then continues through the weekend amid a return of near to
 above normal temperatures.
