 .DISCUSSION...
 Hot and dry weather will continue for today and Thursday. A hazy 
 sky from distant wildfire smoke should limit high temperatures to 
 the lower and middle 90s today and Thursday. Together with dew 
 points in the middle to upper 60s, this will keep heat indices below 
 100 degrees today. A couple of areas near the Ohio River may see 
 heat index values reach 99 to 100 degrees Thursday afternoon.
 
 The chance for showers and thunderstorms will return as early 
 as Friday afternoon, and will last through the weekend as a cold 
 front moves into the area. Some of these storms could produce heavy 
 rainfall that may lead to localized flash flooding, along with 
 strong wind gusts. The highest rain chances will be Saturday.
