Winter Weather Headlines Issued for First Snow Event of the Season

A blast of Arctic air tonight into Monday will usher a changeover from rain to snow for the start of the new week. In the mountains, a winter storm warning has been issued where 4–6” of snow with local higher amounts will be.  .DISCUSSION...
 Today will be another fairly mild day with brief showers. Rain will 
 become more widespread tonight as a more potent system arrives, with 
 cold and blustery conditions taking hold. Rain eventually changes to 
 a rain/snow mix overnight. All snow is then expected by Monday 
 morning. 1-3" of snowfall expected across the lowlands and 3-6" 
 across the mountains with locally higher amounts possible, 
 especially above 3,500 feet. The first winter weather products of 
 the season have been issued. Winds will be strong gusting between 25-
 40 mph Monday into Tuesday.
