Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Possible This Afternoon and Evening

An approaching cold front will bring scattered strong to severe thunderstorms to our area later this afternoon and into the evening.  .DISCUSSION...
 Scattered showers and strong to severe storms prevail into the 
 evening ahead of a cold frontal passage. The main threats will be 
 damaging wind and isolated flash flooding. However we cannot rule 
 out hail. The severe threat diminishes tonight, followed by the cold 
 frontal passage is expected by early Sunday morning. A few lingering 
 showers are possible in the overnight hours and through Sunday, 
 especially in the northeast mountains. 
 
 Quiet weather begins Sunday afternoon for much of the area which 
 will continue into midweek with below seasonable temperatures 
 expected.
