Strong, Gusty Winds Expected Across the Area Today

Strong, gusty winds are expected across the area today as a deep area of low pressure moves well north of the area. Wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph are expected this afternoon across much of the area, with gusts in excess of 55 mph possible across the northern lowlands and mountains.  Friday will remain dry, but winds will increase throughout the day. 
 Winds will be the strongest across southeast Ohio, northern West 
 Virginia, and the higher ridges. Wind advisories will be in effect 
 Friday for these areas.
 
 Another potent system affects the area late this weekend into early 
 next week, with additional precipitation and a reinforcing shot of 
 cooler temperatures.
