 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 236 PM EDT Fri Mar 13 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
A high wind warning is in effect for Perry and Morgan counties in
Ohio, as well as the higher elevations of Pocahontas and Randolph
counties. A wind advisory is in effect elsewhere outside of far
southern West Virginia and southwest Virginia. Due to the strong
winds and dry conditions, there will be an elevated fire threat
today across southeast Ohio, northeast Kentucky, and much of West
 Virginia.

Drier weather continues through most of the weekend, but another
potent system affects the area late Sunday into Tuesday. Rain and
snow, gusty winds, and much colder temperatures will return as a
result Monday and Tuesday. Light snow accumulations are possible in
 the mountains.
