 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 236 PM EDT Sun Mar 15 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
Recent dry conditions coupled with warm and breezy conditions this
afternoon will lead to an increased fire danger, and residents
should remember that spring fire laws restrict daytime burning. A
strong cold front will cross the region tonight into early Monday
morning. This front will bring a line of heavy showers and very
gusty winds, and a Wind Advisory is in effect for the entire area.
Behind the front, temperatures will drop sharply on Monday, changing
rain to snow. While daytime snow accumulation will be limited by
warm ground temperatures, slick spots could develop on roads Monday
night as temperatures fall into the 20s. A hard freeze is expected
Monday night and Tuesday night, which will be dangerous to any
plants that have already started growing.
