 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 237 AM EDT Fri Apr 17 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
Friday will be dry and very warm, with relative humidity values
potentially lowering into the 20s to 30s during the afternoon. Winds
should remain fairly light across the majority of the area, though
some gusts into the 15 to 25 mph range could be possible along the
 higher mountain ridges.

A cold front brings a better likelihood for storms Saturday
afternoon and evening, with a conditional wetting rain into Saturday
night. Temperatures remain unusually warm into Saturday, then the
front ushers in much colder air with potential for critically low
minimum afternoon relative humidity percentages in the 20s Monday
 and Tuesday of next week.
