Severe Thunderstorm and Flash Flooding Potential Returns This Afternoon and Evening

Thunderstorms this afternoon and evening could produce damaging winds and hail, particularly with a line that moves southeast ahead of an advancing cold front. A tornado or two, as well as localized flash flooding, are also possible. There is a Slight to Enhanced Risk for Severe Storms, and a Slight Risk for Flash Flooding. Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 7-11, 2022 in Virginia! 

Severe weather knows no boundaries and impacts every individual in every region of the Commonwealth. Because of this, everyone needs to BE AWAREBE PREPAREDHAVE A PLAN!

The information we'll provide throughout the week on our Facebook and Twitter pages will help you and your loved ones be Weather Ready for the spring severe weather season.  Also, please take the time at 9:45 am on Tuesday March 8 to practice what you would do if a Tornado Warning was issued for your area.
