Winter Weather Headlines Continue for First Snow Event of the Season

Snow showers continue overnight tonight before wrapping up Tuesday morning. In the mountains, a winter storm warning remains in place where 4–6” of snow with local higher amounts will be. A winter weather advisory continues for 2-4" across portions of the lowlands and mountains. 1-2" of snowfall is expected elsewhere across the lowlands. Hazardous travel conditions remain possible. West Virginia residents are encouraged to prepare for the winter season as Gov. Jim Justice and the West Virginia Emergency Management Division (WVEMD), ReadyWV!, in collaboration with the NOAA/National Weather Service (NWS), announce West Virginia’s Winter Weather Awareness Week, taking place from November 18 to 22, 2024.
