Rain and thunderstorm chances increase during the day Sunday, primarily west of Highway 75. Sunday evening and Sunday night, storm chances expend to much of eastern Oklahoma with potential heavy rainfall, localized flash flooding, and strong wind gusts.
Although the Slight Risk area has shifted well southwest of the area, there remains a low chance of flash flooding across portions of eastern Oklahoma Sunday evening into Sunday night. The eastern most extent of the risk area for flash flooding extends along and just east of US 177. Please do not attempt to drive through flooded roads and be especially vigilant when traveling at night.
Following cooler than average temperatures and low to medium rain chances Sunday and Monday, afternoon highs will return to near and above normal for the remainder of the week. Things will also dry out as a ridge of high pressure builds over the region preventing little if any meaningful rainfall.
