Gusty Winds in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Atmospheric River to Impact the Northwest

Gusty winds are expected from portions of the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast through the night following the system that brought rain to the area. The first widespread fall freeze is expected across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas Sunday morning. A Freeze Warning has been issued for all of northeast Oklahoma and far northwest Arkansas, as well as a portion of southeast Oklahoma. Frost Advisories are also in effect for the Arkansas River Valley and a few more counties in southeast Oklahoma. Take steps to protect sensitive outdoor plants and any outdoor pets.
Many locations across eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas will see their first freeze of the fall Sunday morning, with temperatures Sunday afternoon only reaching the mid 50s to mid 60s across the region. Temperatures are expected to warm above seasonal averages beginning Monday and continue into next weekend with mostly dry conditions.
October 2025 was definitely a very warm month for Tulsa, Fort Smith and Fayetteville, with average temperatures at all 3 locations finishing several degrees above normal. On the rainfall front, Tulsa and Fort Smith enjoyed above normal rain, but Fayetteville largely missed out on that this time.
