A Winter Storm Warning in effect for eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas through 3 PM Sunday. Significant snow and sleet accumulations are likely. Travel will become nearly impossible at times and localized power outages are possible, particularly across southeast Oklahoma.

Dangerously cold wind chills are expected through Monday. This can cause frostbite and burst pipes if precautionary actions are not taken. Please avoid outdoor activities, wrap exposed pipes, drip faucets, and make sure outdoor animals have shelter, food and water.

Significant snow and sleet totals are forecast across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Dangerous road conditions will continue through Sunday night. Travel will likely become nearly impossible at times. Make preparations for prolonged road impacts as travel will remain difficult well into next week.

Dangerously cold conditions are expected through Monday. Subzero wind chills are likely, especially across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

Winter precipitation will continue into Sunday with impacts lasting into next week. Periods of heavy snow and sleet will lead to significant accumulations across much of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

A high impact winter storm will affect eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas this weekend. Temperatures will be slow to moderate, meaning the impacts from the storm will linger into next week.
