Heavy Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorm Threats for the Plains and Southeast

A frontal boundary extending from the western High Plains to the Southeast will focus additional showers and thunderstorms this weekend. Some of these storms may become severe, alongside frequent lightning, and isolated instances of flash flooding. A swath of heavy rainfall will continue this morning across southeast OK. Localized amounts up to 4 inches will result in some flooding. Rain is expected to diminish and shift more to the south with time later this morning.
Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue across mainly southeast OK this morning and shift more to the south this afternoon. The main hazard will be torrential rainfall with localized flooding.

Rain and thunderstorm chances increase during the day Sunday, primarily west of Highway 75. Sunday evening and Sunday night, storm chances expend to much of eastern Oklahoma with potential heavy rainfall, localized flash flooding, and strong wind gusts.
There is a low chance of flash flooding across portions of eastern Oklahoma Sunday and Sunday night. The highest chances for flash flooding occur Sunday evening and night, especially along and northwest of Interstate 44. Please do not attempt to drive through flooded roads and be especially vigilant when traveling at night.
