An influx of tropical moisture associated with a tropical disturbance will bring chances for showers and storms to the region during the middle of the week. Showers and occasional thunderstorms will spread west-northwest through the region Tuesday night through Wednesday night. Severe weather is not likely, but locally heavy rain is expected, especially across Central Texas. The best rain & storm chances are across Central Texas, with decreasing chances north and east. Rain will exit to the west on Thursday.
Most likely rain accumulations between Tuesday and Friday range from less than 0.5" in North Texas to 1-3" in parts of Central Texas. There is a 20% chance parts of Central Texas could receive 3-5" of rain. These are the areas we are monitoring for flooding impacts Tuesday night through Thursday.
Another round of isolated to scattered showers and storms are expected Tuesday afternoon, especially across Central and East Texas. Otherwise, warm and windy conditions with clouds clearing out by mid-day. Southeast winds 10-20 mph and gust up to 30 mph are possible.
