Temperatures will quickly climb as we head into this work-week. Expect daytime highs to reach 10+ degrees above normal by Wednesday and peak on Thursday. As a result, an Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for many areas below 4000' on Thursday. As we start to get into these hotter conditions, be sure to stay hydrated and limit times outdoors during the hottest part of the day.
An Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for Glen Canyon, Marble Canyon, Lower elevations of the Grand Canyon, and the Yavapai County Valleys and Basins. This watch is valid for Thursday, June 6th between 7 AM MST - 8 PM MST. This watch will have the possibility of being upgraded to a warning or cancelled, depending on how the forecast shapes up closer to the end of the week. As temperatures begin to warm, be sure to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the day.
