Clear skies and decreasing wind will allow for freezing temperatures tonight. Much of south central into east central Mississippi has yet to have a freeze so far this fall and a freeze warning has been issued in that area. Sensitive outdoor vegetation could be harmed by the freeze, but also keep your pets in mind as it will be much colder tonight than in recent weeks for most of the area.
Cold air will settle in across the region tonight, with widespread low temperatures near or below freezing expected under clear skies and light winds. The coldest temperatures are expected in the hillier areas of Mississippi.
Sunny skies and cool temperatures will continue on Monday with highs in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees. Light winds out of the northeast will make for a pleasant day across the area.
