The recent warming trend will continue today along with abundant sunshine. High temperatures will mainly be in the mid to upper 70s across the Tennessee Valley.
The Winter Outlook for 2017-2018 calls for a trend toward warmer than normal temperatures. This does not mean periods of cold weather is not expected. There are equal chances of wetter or drier than normal conditions across much of the area.
Each observation point is apart of our COOP program (Cooperative Observer Program). Each site has a 24 hour observation period that ends and begins at 8 am local time. Each site records temperature, precipitation, and snowfall data.
