Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
225 AM EST Sun Dec 7 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns will remain low today given lingering snow
cover across much of the lower Mid-Atlantic, as well as partly
to mostly cloudy skies and winds from the south at less than 10
mph. Minimum RH across the service area will hold above 40 percent
areawide.

The next winter system will arrive late tonight, bringing another
coating of snow for much of the service area that will continue to
fall through Monday afternoon before coming to an end. Snowfall
totals will range from 1" to 3", with locally higher amounts,
across southeast West Virginia and much of western and central
Virginia. Less than 1" is forecast for the foothills and Piedmont
of northern North Carolina.
