.DISCUSSION...

...Dry weather through the weekend to give way to widespread
rainfall early next week...

A large area of high pressure will remain over the eastern part
of the U.S. through Friday before slowly sliding eastward off the
coast this weekend. Consequently, dry conditions with sunny,
warm afternoons and clear, cool nights will continue into the
weekend. Early next week a strong cold front will move into the
region as deep upper troughing develops across the eastern U.S.
This pattern change will bring widespread rainfall, possibly as
much as 2-3 inches in some areas, followed by much cooler
temperatures.

Minimum afternoon relative humidity values will be in the 30 percent
range through Saturday, before a marked increase in relative humidity is
noted early next week. In addition, light and often variable transport
winds along with relative low mixing heights will result in poor
dispersion and ventilation conditions through Saturday.
