A cold front pressing east across the central U.S. will be the focus for areas of strong to severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall through this weekend. Strong to severe thunderstorms my bring damaging winds, hail, and a few tornadoes while excessive rainfall may lead to areas of flooding. Temperatures will increase again this weekend, with many areas seeing temperatures from the mid 90s to lower 100s. The hottest day is forecast to be Sunday, where temperatures will be between 100 to 105 across the Columbia Basin/Gorge and adjacent foothills and valleys, with mid to upper 90s elsewhere in the lower elevations. Heat advisories will be in effect from Saturday through Monday for the Lower Columbia Basin/Gorge and adjacent valleys/foothills.
