This article is from October 2018 and is no longer valid: The first accumulating snowfall for Anchorage and the Matanuska Valley is expected for the Monday work commute. The highest snow accumulations are anticipated for the upper Hillside and east Anchorage northward into Eagle River and Palmer with lesser accumulations as you head westward. Expect the heaviest snow rates during the mid morning through early afternoon before they rapidly taper off in the late afternoon and early evening. Be prepared for longer commute times.
