Critical Fire Weather Threats for Portions of California; Heavy Rain in southern Texas

Fire Weather threats remain critical for portions of California, and smoke is reducing Air Quality; however, rain is forecast mid-week. A strong cold front will bring heavy rain and potential for localized flooding in southern Texas, and continued below normal temperatures across much of the U.S. Snow from the northern portions of this system will spread from the Ohio Valley into the Northeast. Our buoy in Kachemak Bay is sadly down for maintenance so we are asking for your help! Marine observations are not only beneficial for us to create accurate forecasts but that buoy data is used by researchers to create more accurate wave models.
