A High Wind Warning is currently out for the Alaska Peninsula until 4pm.  Gusts up to 75mph are possible.  High winds were also observed at St. George Island last night. But what is causing those high winds?

A low pressure system is storming through the Bering Sea which is causing hurricane force winds and almost 80 mph gusts! You can see the low pressure in this image by the curl located just east of the Pribilofs.
