A round of severe thunderstorms are forecast across areas of the Southern Plains, Mississippi Valley and Great Lakes this afternoon and tonight; The threat for flash flooding will also accompany these storms. Northerly winds with the cold frontal passage will increase up to 60 mph gusts, which could result in blowing dust that reduces visibility. Although the strongest indication for blowing dust currently resides in the southeastern TX Panhandle, anywhere with gusts above 55 mph and loose soil could produce blowing dust.
