WEATHER OBSERVERS WANTED! Do you have an interest in observing and recording rain and snow across southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, or western and central Wisconsin? If so, we are always looking for weather observers, and the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS for short) is a simple and free-to-join way to allow you to report rain and snow amounts, while also allowing us at the National Weather Service to access your reported weather information. Read more in the tabs below, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact David Lawrence and Jeff Boyne. We would love to have you as an observer. |

What is CoCoRaHS?
CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network. Simply put, CoCoRaHS is a community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds who share a common interest in observing the weather. By taking observations of rain, snow, and even occasionally hail, volunteers help to "fill in the gaps" between traditional weather observations (airports, TV stations, etc.) and also provide valuable weather information to the National Weather Service. Additionally, the CoCoRaHS web page archives all of your weather observations so you can look back at any time to see how much rain or snow fell at your location over a week, month, year, or longer.
Who Can Participate and What is Required?
We are looking for observers of all ages and backgrounds! There is no age requirement - if you can and are willing to report routinely, we would love to have you join.
