Severe Weather Likely this Afternoon

An additional round of severe weather will move into the region early this afternoon and depart before sunset. Large hail (2-3" diameter), damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes, perhaps some strong (EF2-EF3) will be possible. April 4-8, 2022 is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  Iowa held an awareness week in late March.

 

Each day a different preparedness topic will be covered, including statewide tornado drills that are scheduled for Thursday, April 7th at both 1:45PM and 6:45PM.

On Thursday, April 7th, statewide tornado drills will be held at 1:45 p.m. CDT and 6:45 p.m. CDT.  Outdoor sirens may be used in some communities for the drill and NOAA Weather Radios will be activated using test wording.  We hope you can take advantage of these drills to test your action and shelter plans.
