Severe Weather and Flooding Threats for the Central U.S.; Fire Weather Concerns for the Western U.S.

Severe weather and flooding threats will continue for portions of the central U.S. through Thursday, focused from the central High Plains to the Mid-Mississippi Valley. Hot and dry conditions will fuel fire weather concerns for the Intermountain West, and dry thunderstorms may spark additional wildfires. PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT

If you think today is cold you aint seen nothing!

On February 15, 1936, 87 years ago today, North Dakota had its
lowest temperature of record, 60 degrees below zero recorded in
Parshall, Mountrail County.

There was hope, even back then. The highest temperature of record
in North Dakota occurred just 5 months later, when on July 6,
1936, the temperature in Steele, Kidder County, soared to 121
degrees.
