Severe Weather and Heavy Rain from the Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic; Heat Persists in the South-Central U.S.

Widespread strong thunderstorms with damaging winds and locally heavy rain are expected across portions of the Ohio Valley into southern Mid-Atlantic and Carolinas. Rounds of strong thunderstorms are expected to develop across the northern and central Plains. ...NOAA WEATHER RADIO TRANSMITTER NEAR MINOT TO EXPERIENCE NUMEROUS POWER INTERRUPTIONS INTO LATE NOVEMBER... Power to the transmitter will be turned off from time to time while a new communications tower is being constructed. The tower is expected to be finished by November 28th. If the power is off when a weather warning or weekly test is sent it would not pass through the transmitter site. Be sure to have alternate ways to receive emergency messages, like the National Weather Service web page at www.weather.gov/bis, through NWS social media, or through other local media outlets.
