Lake Effect Snow in the Lower Great Lakes; Unsettled Pattern in the Pacific Northwest

Lake-effect snow will continue downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario through Friday. Lake Effect Snow Warnings have been issued. In the Western U.S., rain and higher elevation snow will continue over the Great Basin through Friday. Overview

The season's first decent snowfall event occurred across parts of eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois during the afternoon and evening of December 11.  Carroll, Stephenson, and Jo Daviess Counties in northwest Illinois received the highest amounts of 2; to as much as 5 inches!
