Isolated Severe Storms in the Midwest; Fire Weather Concerns in the Northern Plains; Record Heat in the West

Isolated severe storms are possible across parts of the Florida Peninsula and the Great Lakes to Lower Missouri Valley and south-central Plains late this afternoon and early evening. Overview

Severe thunderstorms developed along a warm front during the evening of Wednesday, May 10, 2017, bringing large hail, strong winds, heavy downpours, and an EF-0 tornado west of Salem, IA (north of Hillsboro) just before 3 pm.  No damage was reported and no one was injured.
