Tracking Storm System Across the Eastern U.S.

A storm system will continue to produce widespread showers and thunderstorms as it progresses eastward across the central U.S. into the Northeast through the weekend. There are risks of severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall on Saturday from the Ozarks into the mid-Mississippi River Valley with potential for damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding. Warm temperatures are expected tonight along with increasing clouds after Midnight. Lows will range from the mid 60s to the lower 70s.
Dry conditions continue for most areas into late next week with above normal high temperatures. There is a slight chance for rain along and north of a Llano to Austin to La Grange line Saturday afternoon and early evening as a cold front moves into the region. Otherwise, dry and warm as we approach the latter part of the third week of October.
