Tracking Storm System Across the Central U.S.

A storm system will slowly continue to press across the central U.S. Friday and Saturday with widespread showers and thunderstorms. Slight risks for severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall have been issued Saturday from the Ozarks into the mid-Mississippi River Valley with potential for damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding. Mild temperatures are expected tonight with lows in the upper 50s to upper 60s.
Above average temperatures will continue through the middle of next week, despite a cold front moving through on Sunday with another cold front on Tuesday. Most areas will remain dry. However, there are low chances of showers and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday for areas east of the Interstate 35 and 37 corridors.
