Heat Wave Expands to the East Coast; Flash Flooding Likely in the Central Plains into the Midwest; Severe Thunderstorms in the Northeast

Dangerous, prolonged heat is ongoing in the Mid-South to Mid-Mississippi Valley and heat expands into the Northeast for a brief period today. Widely scattered instances of flash flooding due to heavy rains are forecast from northeast Kansas to much of Indiana. A layer of Saharan dust aloft will keep rain chances near nil tonight before rain and thunder chances return tomorrow (Sunday) night. Daily highs will remain near 90, with lows in the lower 80s. Gentle to moderate easterly marine breezes gradually slacken and become northeast to east overnight, becoming light to gentle by Monday.
TONIGHT... Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 80s. East winds 10 to 15 mph.
TONIGHT... Generally NE-E moderate breezes, becoming gentle/moderate for Florida Bay. Bay waters light/moderate chop, becoming light; Nearshore waters moderate chop, becoming light/moderate. Seas north & west of the island chain generally 1-3 feet, south 2-4 ft (2-3 ft Hawk Channel).
