Damage to Atlanta Motor Speedway and
Tara Field due to Tropical Storm Cindy

Images below are examples of damage caused by an F2 tornado that struck the Hampton, Georgia area. The tornado was associated with thunderstorms generated by the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy Wednesday night, July 6, 2005. Atlanta Motor Speedway and Tara Field (airport) suffered significant damage. These photos were taken during a field survey conducted by National Weather Service representatives Lans Rothfusz, and Chip West.
