More widespread storms are expected on Tuesday morning and afternoon. Some storms could become strong to severe, with large hail, damaging winds, a couple tornadoes, and flash flooding all possible. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.
A Flood Watch is in effect Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night for North Texas and eastern Central Texas. Rain totals will be between 1 to 3 inches with isolated totals up to 5 inches. Monitor the forecast and remember, Turn Around, Don't Drown.
Periods of heavy rain on Tuesday may exacerbate the flood threat across North and Central Texas. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time for your commute, and to never drive through flooded roads.
Lower rain chances will persist through the mid-late week. Afternoon highs will mainly peak in the 70s and 80s. The Climate Prediction Center 6 to 10 Day Outlook favors below normal precipitation and near to slightly below normal temperatures from May 11th to May 15th.
