As bitterly cold temperatures arrive this weekend, small bodies of water may freeze over. Frozen bodies of water such as ponds, pools, & hot tubs may look solid, but the ice is weak and unstable. Stay off the ice! If you fall into freezing cold water, hypothermia can ensue rapidly. Also, use extra caution when walking on slippery roads and sidewalks, and wear footwear with proper traction.
It will still be seasonably cold through the middle portion of the upcoming week, but not nearly as cold as the Arctic blast from this weekend. Highs will return to the upper 30s and 40s each day with lows in the teens and 20s.
