The best chances for storms will move south today, though isolated storms will remain possible in North Texas. A few of these storms could be strong, with strong winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain all possible. Temperatures will be cooler, with highs ranging from the mid 80s to mid 90s.
Two storm complexes are expected to move southeast into the area, one tonight into Sunday, and another Sunday night into Monday. The main threats are strong winds, localized flooding, and frequent lightning. While severe storms are unlikely this weekend, we cannot rule out an isolated severe wind gust along the leading edge of the complex Sunday night into Monday morning.
Scattered storms are expected to linger through Monday afternoon. However, the forecast will trend hotter and drier through the rest of this next week. Afternoon highs will return to the mid 90s to around 101, with afternoon heat indices up to around 107. Make sure to stay cool and hydrated this week!
