Very heavy rainfall impacted much of North and Central Texas overnight. This activity will continue to move east this morning with mostly cloudy skies expected this afternoon. There is a low chance that an additional storm or two develops later this afternoon. Patchy fog is expected to develop overnight tonight into early Monday morning.
We'll be watching a dryline to our west on Monday afternoon and evening as thunderstorms are expected to develop along it. Most of the activity will be across Oklahoma, but a few storms may clip our northern counties mainly north of I-20. Very large hail and damaging winds would be the main threats with any storms that develop.
A Flood Watch remains in effect for locations near and east of the I-35 corridor through 1pm this afternoon. Possible Impacts: Flooding may occur in low-lying, urban, and poor drainage areas. Rapid rises will be possible on creeks, streams, and rivers. Actions to Take: Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Rainfall Amounts: Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1 inch possible through late morning.
Periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue through next week. Strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will be possible at times, particularly Monday and Wednesday afternoon/evening. High temperatures in the mid 80s to near 90 degrees are expected by Tuesday/Wednesday of next week. A late week cold front will bring temperatures closer to normal for Mother's Day weekend.
