Severe Thunderstorms in the Central U.S.; Upper Level Low Over California

Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible today across central and eastern Minnesota, Iowa, and western Wisconsin. A few tornadoes, isolated very large hail, and damaging winds may occur. Temperatures will continue to be on the rise under the influence of an upper level high. Temperatures will climb into the mid and upper 90s both today and tomorrow with widespread triple digit heat index values expected.
Temperatures will soar into the 90s with some locations potentially reaching 100 degrees again Saturday. A cold front is expected to arrive late Sunday with at least some low rain chances and cooler weather next week.
