Dangerously Hot This Weekend - Be Ready!

A hot and humid weekend for the region - dangerously so. High temperatures in the low to mid 90s will combine with high humidity to produce heat indices from 100 to 105  today and Sunday. Overnight low temperatures will only stay in the mid 70s to near 80, providing little relief from the heat. 

Take precautions to protect yourself, family and pets from the heat this weekend. 

Dangerous Heat This Weekend

  • What: Heat indices from 100 to 105°F
  • Where: Northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and western into central Wisconsin.
  • Timing: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM Today and Sunday.
  • Impacts: Heat related illnesses can occur in as little as 30 minutes. Children, pets and the elderly are especially susceptible to the heat - check on them!! 
  • ACTION: Avoid prolonged exposure to the heat - postpone or reschedule outdoor activities. Stay hydrated, find shade or air conditioning for breaks.
