Severe storms are likely this evening through tonight. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts up to 80mph, while large hail up to golf ball size will also be possible. In addition, tornadoes cannot be ruled out. The area at greatest risk for severe storms is mainly south of Highway 82 corridor, especially in the Interstate 20 to Highway 84 corridors.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are possible early this evening across northern portions of central Mississippi. Then rain and storm chances will increase overnight, with some severe storms likely. Low temperatures will range in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Rain chances will clear the area on Friday with a few lingering showers across the Pine Belt, with high temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
