Arctic Front Brings Winter Weather and Colder Temperatures to the Eastern U.S.

A series of cold fronts will bring heavy lake effect snow to the northern Great Lakes. The fronts will merge over the Ohio Valley and bring colder temperatures east of the Mississippi River later today into the end of the week. End of Frost/Freeze Products Until Spring 2019

NWS North Platte will no longer issue frost and freeze products as of October 11, 2018 for the remainder of the cold season. The growing season has come to an end across much of the area with lows this morning in the 20s across western and north central Nebraska.

Frost and freeze headlines are defined as frost advisories, freeze watches, and freeze warnings. Frost and freeze products will be issued again at the start of the next growing season in the spring of 2019.
