Heavy Rain and Flash Flooding in the West; Heat Expands in the Central U.S.

Monsoonal moisture will produce showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain over parts of the Southwest, Great Basin, and Central Rockies through Monday. Flash flooding is possible, especially in and around burn scars and in areas of steep terrain. End of Frost/Freeze Products Until Spring 2019

NWS North Platte will no longer issue frost and freeze products as of October 11, 2018 for the remainder of the cold season. The growing season has come to an end across much of the area with lows this morning in the 20s across western and north central Nebraska.

Frost and freeze headlines are defined as frost advisories, freeze watches, and freeze warnings. Frost and freeze products will be issued again at the start of the next growing season in the spring of 2019.
