Active Spring Like Pattern Across the Eastern Half of the Country

The second storm will track across central and eastern portion of the country this weekend. Heavy wintry precipitation will affect the northern Plains to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Severe thunderstorms are expected along and ahead of the cold front, where very large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible from the mid-Mississippi and Ohio Valleys to southern Plains. Latest South Platte River Forecast

 

Updated: Friday, April 22nd at 6:15 PM CDT

 

Recent precipitation over western Nebraska and eastern Colorado has contributed to elevated flows on the South Platte River. The river will continue to rise at the Roscoe gauge site and maintain a 7 foot stage level for the next several days. River levels are also slowly on the rise at the North Platte gauge site along the South Platte River. No flooding is expected over the next week.
