Excessive Rainfall and Potential Tropical Cyclone in the South; Severe Thunderstorms in the Midwest

Excessive rainfall may produce locally considerable flash flooding over parts of the northwestern Gulf Coast, lower Mississippi River Valley, and Deep South through Thursday. Potential Tropical Cyclone One is forecast to become a tropical storm (Arthur) as it moves along or just off the northwestern Gulf coast through Wednesday. March 4th Freezing Rain

 

 


 

 

Freezing rain began late in the evening during March 3rd and lasted through most of the morning of the 4th. Numerous trees were downed in Southeast Texas and some roadways closed during the event across the region. This winter weather event marked the 5th and final time frozen precipitation accumulated in the area during the winter of 2013-2014.
